Making School Leadership More Diverse to Reflect the Community On-Demand Webinar

Overview

Building a diverse pipeline of school leaders who are well prepared and supported enables districts to retain the kind of talent that ensures all students thrive. Research tells us that principals of color accelerate achievement for all students, especially those of color. But across the country, districts face a diversity crisis in their leadership pipelines: students of color make up 54% of the national K-12 population, yet 78% of U.S. principals are white.

A recent survey of district leaders by New Leaders found that most districts have no clear leadership path for educators of color — despite their commitment to improving leadership diversity. This webinar will feature key voices in how districts can take action to make sure school leaders reflect the communities they serve — and end the representation gap.
