Administrator licensing/certification requirements are at all times subject to the applicable requirements of the credentialing state. All licensing/certification determinations are made by the credentialing state; accordingly, New Leaders, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Bank Street Graduate School of Education cannot guarantee any individual an administrator credential at any time.
Accreditation and Certification at Clark Atlanta University: Graduates of the program are eligible to pursue Tier I educational leadership certification in the state of Georgia and principal’s licensure in the state of Indiana. Program Advisors will meet with students each semester to review processes and options for earning professional licenses in the state in which they reside. Additionally, Clark Atlanta University's (CAU) SOE Certification Officer will conduct workshops each semester related to state certification/licensure procedures and protocols. Program Advisors and the CAU SOE Certification Officer will meet with students each semester to review processes and options for earning professional licenses in the state in which they reside.
Accreditation and Certification at Bank Street Graduate School of Education: Graduates are eligible for New York State School Building Leader (SBL) certification. To be eligible for certification, candidates must have successfully completed three years of teaching or pupil personnel service work in PreK–12 settings. Candidates are also required to pass both the New York State School Building Leader Assessment and the Educating All Students exam. Completion or evidence of completion of the three New York State mandated workshops in Child Abuse Identification, School Violence Prevention, and Harassment, Bullying, and Discrimination Prevention (Dignity for All Students) is a requirement of this program. Workshops can be completed online, and documentation shared with your SSA.
